The new aCOLyte Colony Counter from Don Whitley Scientific provides rapid, efficient colony counts from pour, spread and spiral plates. Simple and convenient to use, it introduces huge time savings and significantly improves efficiency in any laboratory.

Developed in response to demand for rapid plate processing, the aCOLyte incorporates sophisticated image analysis software to ensure rapid and accurate counts with minimum user intervention. With a compact, modern design it is fun to use and easy to learn. Simply plug into the PC, load the software and start counting. An onscreen wizard takes you through the features and results are transferred instantly. Full colour images of each plate are displayed and also stored for future reference. Two versions of the instrument are available. Users can select from either the 'click and count' or 'supercount' models, depending on sample throughput. The 'click and count' model counts up to 4 colonies per second - just point and click for instant logging. Total plate count and dilutions are calculated automatically and transcription errors are eliminated.

Upgrading to the 'supercount' version provides instant, fully automatic detection of up to 500 colonies per second, which is 100 times faster than manual methods. A computer is supplied with both versions to ensure smooth implementation of the system into your laboratory.

The aCOLyte is suitable for counting colonies on any 90mm spiral plate and can be used for a wide range of microbiology applications.
